Madison, Ill. (August 22, 2019) Harding Steinbrenner Racing continues their three-week race stretch in Madison, Illinois, with the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Axalta and Valvoline. 19-year-old Colton Herta will pilot the #88 Capstone Turbine Honda around the World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, a 1.25-mile oval. Saturday’s race will consist of 248 laps for 310 miles (498.88 kilometers).
This will be Colton Herta’s first time on the short oval in and IndyCar, but the rookie has previous experience there in an Indy Lights car. The Valenica, California, native has one pole starting position and two podium finishes at Gateway Motorsports Park in his two years of competing in the Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires series.
“I’m really excited to be racing under the lights again!” said Colton Herta. “The World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway is a tough short oval because two ends of the track are drastically different, but I’m up for the challenge. I’m ready to get back in the #88 Capstone Turbine Honda. The boys have been working hard, and we’re hungry for another top result as the season winds down.”
